Lottery for appointments begins at 8:30 am.
Services provided: Helps self-represented litigants navigate the civil courts, including quick assistance and workshops on the preparation of complaints, answers, case management statements, some motions, as well as other general inquiries regarding civil court cases in Sacramento County.
Eligibility:  Any self-represented litigant in the Sacramento County Superior Court, regardless of income. 

Voluntary Legal Services Program of Northern California

Services provided: Volunteer-based "pro bono" legal aid program that provides free assistance with civil legal matters to low income clients living in the Sacramento region.  Provides service in areas of probate, eviction defense, employment law, debt collection defense, and more.
Eligibility: Must be low income.

Community Legal Services Clinic - McGeorge School of Law

Services provided:  Provides legal assistance to low income individuals with bankruptcy, crime victim assistance, elder law, and immigration matters.
Eligibility: Must be low income.

Walk-in assistance at the Community Resource Room, Family Relations Courthouse, 3341 Power Inn Road, Rm. 113 -- Self Help Center. 
Monday - Thursday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, closed 12 pm– 1 pm for lunch.
Services provided: Provides referrals to public and nonprofit programs on subjects such as housing, job training, financial services, food programs, health services, legal services, child services, senior services and more. 

Sacramento County Bar Association Attorney Referral Service

Monday  - Friday 9 am – 5 pm
Services provided: Referrals to attorneys who meet experience qualifications, are in good standing with the bar, and have professional liability insurance. Cases must be within Sacramento County.
Fee: $50 for initial consultation. No fee for referrals on Personal Injury cases. In some situations, reduced fees are available to low income persons.

Sacramento Mediation Center

Services provided: Conciliation and mediation services in neighborhood, landlord/tenant, real estate, family, commercial, organization, consumer/merchant, employer/employee, victim/offender and other disputes. Mediation services are not provided for physical or sexual assault cases.
