Wireless Internet Access
The library offers free wireless Internet access. With their wireless-ready laptops, patrons can access the Internet and many of our online subscription databases. The library's wireless network utilizes the WiFi standard. Most users can simply bring their wireless ready laptop or other wireless device into the library and turn it on. The computer will automatically access the wireless network.
Bookdrop
Both the Main and Branch Libraries have book drop receptacles where patrons can return library books 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Main Library's book drop is located on H Street near the 6th Street corner. The Branch Library bookdrop is located off of Ramona near the parking lot elevators. It is tan in color and marked with our Sacramento County Public Law Library logo. Videotapes, audio tapes, computer discs, and certain books cannot be returned to the book drop, as doing so may damage those materials. Library materials that cannot be returned to the book drop are marked accordingly.
Fax Services
Patrons can send and receive faxes at both the Main Library and the Branch Library. The cost of sending a fax is $1.00 per page to a local fax number, and $1.25 per page to a long distance number. The cost of receiving a fax at the library is $1.00 per page. Patrons wishing to send or receive a fax should contact the Main Library at 874-8541 or the Branch Library at 875-3490.
Photocopiers
Both the Main and Branch Libraries provide photocopiers for patron use. The photocopiers accept coins, one dollar bills and five dollar bills. Patrons can also purchase a copy card in the amount of 100 copies for $15.00.
ADA Computer Station
The Main Library has a computer station to meet the needs of vision impaired patrons. This computer station is equipped with an extra large computer screen and "Zoom Text" software.
Diskettes and USB Jump Drives
Patrons can save information from the library's public computers onto diskettes and USB jump drives. Patrons may bring their own, or purchase diskettes and USB jump drives at the Circulation Desk.
Microfiche Reader-Printer
A portion of the Main Library's collection is held on microfiche. The library's microfiche reader-printer enables patrons to view and print information. The cost of copies made by the microfiche reader-printer is 15 cents per page.
Typewriters
The Main Library provides two typewriters for public use to type legal forms. Patrons who wish to use a typewriter must first sign in at the Circulation Desk. The library sells blank pleading paper for 15 cents per sheet.
