The library offers computers for public use. Use is limited to legal research and writing only.

General Resources

Wireless Internet Access
The library offers free wireless Internet access. With their wireless-ready laptops, patrons can access the Internet and many of our online subscription databases.  More details on wireless access at the Law Library.

Microsoft Word 2007
The library's public computers have Microsoft Word® 2007 available to patrons for creating documents. This program allows patrons to type documents on pleading paper.

Diskettes, USB Jump Drives, and CDs
Patrons can save information from the library's public computers onto diskettes, USB jump drives, or CDs. You may bring your own, or purchase diskettes, USB jump drives or CDs at the Circulation Desk.

Printing Charges
Patrons can print information from the library's public computers for 15 cents per page.

In-House Databases  

These resources, including premium, subscription-only databases, are available to Law Library patrons at no charge.

HeinOnline
HeinOnline® provides access to full texts of law reviews and legal periodicals from each publication's inception to its most current volume, the Federal Register, the Code of Federal Regulations, selected U.S. federal legislative history, international treaties and agreements, legal classics, and more.
Legal Trac
LegalTrac indexes thousands of articles from major law reviews, legal newspapers, bar association journals and international legal journals, as well as law-related articles from over 1,000 additional business and general interest titles, from 1980 to the present. Full-text is available for many of the more recently indexed articles.
Lexis.com
The library has a limited subscription to Lexis.com. The Lexis.com database can be used to retrieve the text of federal and state court decisions and recent law review articles if the exact citation is known. Lexis.com can also be use to Shepardize court decisions, statutes, administrative regulations, and law review articlesif the exact citation to the decision, statute, regulation or article is known. In addition to the printing and saving options available with all the library's electronic resources, patrons can also Instruct Lexis.com to fax or email the document to them (no charge).
Lexis-Nexis CD-ROM (Matthew Bender)
The California Law & Practice library on CD provides access to the full texts of popular Matthew Bender treatises such as California Forms of Pleading and Practice and California Points and Authorities.
Nolo E-Books
Nolo Ebooks provides access to electronic versions of do-it-yourself legal books from Nolo Press.

OnLAW 
OnLAW is a web-based tool that provides online access to over 90 CEB titles. With OnLAW, you can search the full-text of CEB practice guides and action guides to find California legal commentary and analysis and access attorney-drafted forms.

The library provides the XSpouse support calculation software (similar to Dissomaster™) on all public computers for patron use.

Westlaw
Westlaw® provides easy access to primary materials from both federal and state courts. This database also contains California texts, treatises, and practice aids on a variety of legal topics, as well as California court docket information, articles from law reviews and legal periodicals, and many other publications.
